A heater unit (3) is set in the body, and a tank (6) is filled with a heat transpiration agent (9), an outgoing end portion of a liquid absorption core (8) which is inserted into the tank (6) being inserted into the heater unit (3). The heater unit (3) is formed annularly, in which a transformer-less heating element (10) is incorporated. The heating element (10) consists of a positive temperature coefficient thermistor, the voltage-amperage characteristics of which reside in that the thermistor has a region, which satisfies the conditions Vx + Iy = <u>a</u> (<u>a</u> is a constant) in rectangular coordinates with voltage Vx and amperage Iy taken in the directions of the horizontal axis and vertical axis thereof respectively, in at least a range of applied voltages of 100-240 V. Accordingly, when applied voltages are 100 V and 240 V, variation in the consumption of power P = VI of the thermistor is small, and a heating temperature of the thermistor in the range of applied voltages of 100-240 V does not differ. Therefore, even when an applied voltage is 100 V or 240 V, a difference in the time of consumption of a heat transpiration liquid does not occur. |
