The invention relates to a method for fabricating a tubular element, in particular a hose, from curable plastic material such as vulcanizable rubber, wherein, in the manner known per se, a so-called "green" hose consisting of starting material is pushed onto a mandrel and is then heated. In order to overcome the problems which occur in the process and, in particular, to facilitate the said pushing operation to such an extent that it becomes possible for the processing to be effected by entirely mechanical means it is proposed that use be made of a mandrel which consists of at least two parts whose respective ends are situated opposite one another and that the mandrel ends be introduced into the respective hose ends.
