A flush toilet with a hinged bowl consists of a frame (3) mounted on the bottom and the side wall under a basin (2), a bowl (1) hinged by a swivel arm (4) and a slidable guide arm (5), and a hydraulic cylinder (14) operating the swivel arm in cooperation with a control valve (15) and a switch lever (15A). One end of the swivel arm is rotatably mounted on a pivot shaft (4A) fixed to the frame and the other end mounted on a pivot shaft (4B) at the rear portion of the bowl, such that the bowl may swivel from a horizontal seated use position to an upright storage position. The slidable guide arm hinged to a pivot shaft (5A) at the bottom portion of the bowl is slidably mounted on a guide rail (5B).
