PURPOSE: To provide a method and a system for manufacturing a medium for recording digital information by customer premise in real time. CONSTITUTION: A server 126 connected and remotely arranged in each hierarchical level in accordance with the availability of information to be stored records digital information including voice and picture data. Thereby a product integrating digital information selected by a customer premise 110 in real time is instantaneously manufactured. In a retail sale environment, a customer can previously check a product by retrieving a data base by the use of a touch screen 106 in a store. A strategical and economical network is constituted so that the data of a specific product are proportionally distributed to respective hierarchical servers in accordance with popularity and transmission cost. A security mechanism for requiring the permission of a center data base about the transmission of contents and the manufacturing of a product is also provided.
