摘要 PURPOSE:To improve the aperture ratio without drastically increasing black luminance by forming the shape within the unit element of a black mask light shielding ragion of a counter substrate into a shape notched to be convex toward the wiring side. CONSTITUTION:The shape of the aperture of BM in a pixel is not formed in a rectangular shape or by combination of rectangular shapes, but is formed into a shape notched to be convex toward the wiring side with the rectangular shape or the combination of rectangular shapes as a start point. In such a case, the black luminance increases gently even after the BM end arrives at the position of the transparent electrodes. The time when the gradient of the increasing curve of the black luminance becomes the same gradient as the gradient in the prior art, is the point of the time when the BM moves largely to the right and the part of the max. width on the longitudinal side thereof arrives at the end of the transparent electrode. Then, the change rate of the black luminance corresponding to the mispositioning of the BM is fairly smaller than that in the prior art in the substantial part before the straight line connecting a and a' arrives at the transparent electrode, i.e., the line connecting the points b and b'.
