<p>PURPOSE:To provide the pointing device which varies in moving speed of a cursor according to the strength of an applied force by providing an element which varies in resistance in proportion to the extent of strain and an electric circuit which detects the resistance of the element on an insulating layer which is formed of crystallized glass coating on a metallic elastic body. CONSTITUTION:On the metallic elastic body 3, the insulating layer 4 is formed on crystallized glass by electrophoresis electrodeposition. On this insulating layer 4, Ag-Pd based electrode paste is applied by screen printing to form the electrode part 6 of the resistance element and a detection circuit for resistance. Further, RuO2 based resistance paste is applied to form the resistance element 5. The substrate 2 which is thus formed is fixed to a switch part 1. A force is applied to the switch part 1 and the resistance element is strained to vary in resistance value. These two resistance bodies are arranged at right angles to enable the movement of a cursor on a display.</p> |
