<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a highly precise and uniform resistor by forming a resist layer by a photolithography method and forming a desired resistor. CONSTITUTION:The method for manufacturing a rectangular chip resistor comprises the steps of forming a resistor layer 3 on an entire surface of an insulation board 1 formed with an upper electrode layer 2, and then forming a plurality of resist layers 4a at a predetermined interval in lateral and longitudinal directions on the layer 3 by a photolithography method. The layer 3 not covered with the layers 4a is cut by a sandblasting method. Then, after lateral and longitudinal dividing grooves 5, 5a to independently divide the resist layers into pieces are formed, the layers 4a are removed. Then, after it is divided along the groove 5, a thin film end face electrode layer 7 is so formed as to connect resistors 3a to both ends of the board l including the exposed surface by the dividing. Then, the board 1 is divided by the groove 5a into piecelike boards. Thus, accurate and low-cost resistors can be manufactured.</p> |
