PURPOSE:To suppress temperature rise of outdoor electrical equipments by switching compressor operating current control values depending upon an outdoor temperature at the time of cooling operation. CONSTITUTION:When an air conditioner is operated for cooling, an operating hour measuring means 21 for measuring a period of time from the start of operation and an operating hour comparing means 23 for comparing an operating hour with a second set time (t2) 332 beforehand stored in set time storage means are provided so that the air conditioner is operated for a period of time from the start of operation to the second set time (t2) with a set value of a compressor operating current controlling means 17 corresponding to a third set current value (I3) 153. When an outdoor temperature is equal to or higher than a first set temperature (T1) 321 on and after the second set time (t2) 332, the set value of the compressor operating current controlling means 17 is made until a first set time (t1) 321 to correspond to a first set current value (I1) 151, and is switched over to the first set current value (I1), a second set current value (I2) and the third set current value (131 depending upon an outdoor temperature on and after the first set time (t1) 321.
