LOW-FRICTION STRUCTURE AND METHOD OF MAKING THE SAME

In the bearing, a sliding layer consisting of a metallic matrix with particles incorporated therein and of oxygen is applied by cathodic sputtering to a metallic support. To improve the resistance to dynamic alternating stresses in the field of liquid friction, the oxygen content of the matrix is 0.5 to 2.0 % by weight and the particles, which consist of a sliding material and have sliding properties better than those of the matrix, have an average diameter of x < 0.8 mu m.
