PURPOSE:To provide a controller for an air conditioner capable of driving a compressor after the pressure of a refrigerant circuit is made uniform after restoration of electric power without being influenced by the length of power cut the and hence prolong the service time of the compressor. CONSTITUTION:There are provided time measuring means 36 that measures when a compressor 12 is interrupted owing to temperature regulation and so on, the interruption lapse time, write/read means 39 for writing in the storage means 37 the interruption lapse the of the compressor 12 measured by the time measuring means 36 upon power cut, and decision means 40 that enables driving of the compressor by compressor driving control means 34 upon the interruption lapse time becoming a predetermined the when the power is re-supplied from the power cut to the power restoration. When the interruption lapse time does not reach the predetermined time as a result of the decision by the decision means 40, the measurement by the the measuring means 36 is restarted, and when the interruption lapse the reaches the predetermined time, the driving of the compressor 12 is enabled.
