PURPOSE:To provide a piezoelectric material between a couple of driving portions in view of protecting an apparatus from an external impact to facilitate the attaching work of the piezoelectric material and effectively using the upper surface of an elastic material. CONSTITUTION:An ultrasonic wave motor is composed of an elastic member l, a couple of driving force extracting portions 1a, 1b and piezoelectric materials 2, 3. This elastic member l is a flat plate member and its lower surface 1d is provided with a couple of driving force extracting portions 1a, 1b which are symmetrically arranged around a node X of vertical vibration. Piezoelectric materials 2, 3 are joined to the surface of the elastic member 1 between a couple of driving force extracting portions 1a, 1b and arranged symmetrically around the node X. Since the piezoelectic, materials 2, 3 are arranged between the driving force extracting portions 1a, 1b, these materials are never exposed to a careless external impact. On the occasion of attaching the piezoelectric materials 2, 3, these can easily be positioned with the driving force extracting Portions la, lb used as a guide. |
