PURPOSE: To provide an image signal emphasizing circuit for providing the satisfactory result rather than known one. CONSTITUTION: Concerning the image signal emphasizing circuit provided with a circuit 3 for measuring a histogram and a non-linear processing circuit 1 for emphasizing an image signal corresponding to the measured histogram while being connected to this measuring circuit 3, the histogram is measured only at a transient part in the image signal.
