PURPOSE:To provide a combined piano capable of freely adding a reverberation effect to piano sounds and having the touch feel, etc., of an acoustic piano. CONSTITUTION:Acoustic piano sounds are produced from acoustic sound producing mechanisms by a keyboard operation. These piano sounds are picked up by a sound pickup microphone 21 and are produced from speakers 55a, 55b as well via an ADC 33, DSP 35, etc. These sounds are not the sounds formed by merely picking up the piano sounds and producing these sounds as they are but are the sounds obtd. by selecting an arbitrary mode from three kinds of modes; 'ROOM; the reverberation effect in a room', 'STAGE; the reverberation in a stage', 'HALL; the reverberation effect in a hall to be exclusively used for music' and adding the corresponding reverberation effect to the piano sounds by the DSP 35. Even if, therefore, a player plays this piano in, for example, an ordinary narrow room, the reverberation remains fairly afterward when the 'HALL' mode is selected. The user is thus able to enjoy an atmosphere as if he is playing in a concert hall even in general home. |
