PURPOSE:To stably extract a noticed structure on the whole even if noise and fine chipping of data exist regardless of local differential features by expanding the whole of the noticed tissue by the size of reciprocal of a spatial frequency and coupling the tissue as an area after the whole of the noticed tissue is emphasized by using a two-dimensional spatial filter. CONSTITUTION:In an image processing means, an object area is emphasized by a two-dimensional spatial filter 32 and an object area emphasized image is obtained by using the coefficient obtained by a filter coefficient calculation means 30 according to the spatial frequency (1/N) that an extracted object area has for an inputted (diagnostic) image. Subsequently, this object area emphasized image is converted into a binary image by a binarization means 34. Because 0 and 1 are repeated by the cycle N of the reciprocal of the spatial frequency in the obtained binary image, an expanded image is obtained by adding (expanding) the area of 1 by the thickness N to be the reciprocal of the spatial frequency to the surrounding of a value 1 by an image expansion means 36 so that the whole of the area may be 1. By this processing, the part of 0 is eliminated within the object area. |
