PURPOSE:To provide a device which exactly holds twists of optical fiber and facilitates packaging by providing a device with a first supporting member which inserts and fixes an optical fiber terminal into an internal opening, a second supporting member which rotatably supports this first supporting member and a means for fixing the first supporting member to this second supporting member. CONSTITUTION:The end of the optical fiber 1 is inserted into the opening of the first supporting means 2 having a cylindrical shape. The optical fiber 1 and the supporting means 2 are fixed with an adhesive 6. The first supporting means 2 is supported by the second supporting means 3 and is so supported as to be freely rotatable in the supporting means 3. The twisting of the optical fiber 1 is executed by fixing the supporting means 3 on a surface plate and rotating the supporting means 2. The supporting means 2 and the supporting means 3 are so fixed with the adhesive 6 as not to rotate relatively to each other where the fiber 1 is twisted a prescribed number. This fiber is housed into a container 4 in which optical parts are housed. A box is provided with a notch 5 for inserting the fiber 1 to permit insertion of the fiber 1 in the fixed state into the supporting means 2. |
