WAVEGUIDE TYPE OPTICAL DEVICE

摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain a waveguide type optical device having a low reflectance of <=1% to any light in the wavelength band of 1.2 to 1.65mum. CONSTITUTION:Two or more optically functional elements A1, A2, C1, C2 each made of a semiconductor material are integrated on the same substrate 1 and a thin film B obtd. by successively laminating a 1st thin film B1 of a material having a refractive index of 2.2 to 2.5 and a 2nd thin film B2 of a material having a refractive index of 1.4 to 1.6 is formed on each of surfaces 1a, 1b from which light emerges to obtain the objective waveguide type optical device.
