An extension feed beam for a rock drill, comprising a lower beam (1), and an upper beam (2) mounted slidably with respect to the lower beam (1). According to the invention, slide rails (2b) for the slide structure between the lower beam (1) and the upper beam (2) are provided only on the lower part of the upper beam (2), whereas the slide structure is provided on the lower beam (1). A one-piece profile, formed by a slide frame (16'), extends at least over the travel length of the upper beam (2) from the front end of the lower beam (1). The profile stiffens the front end of the lower beam (1) as well as acts as a fastener for slides.
