The vibration mechanism (11-14,53,54) on the vibration plate (2) has two imbalance shafts, (11,13) synchronously driven in opposite direction, generating directional vibrations transverse to the travel direction. The first shaft (11) is coupled to a drive set (6), while the second one (13) is driven by a transmission (19) together with first shaft. The two shaft, generate a forward force on deviation of the sync. control. The two shafts carry each a single imbalance weight (12,14) as well as a swivelable, rotary, lighter imbalance weight (53,54). The phases of the weights are offset through specified angles according to the direction of rotation of the two imbalance shapes.
