Carbonic acid contained in mineralised water is removed by desorption of carbon dioxide gas. The water is subjected to a fast cyclonic movement, so that the pressure at the centre of the cyclone is less than that of the partial pressure of the gas at the temperature of operation. Carbon dioxide gas is desorbed in this zone.
