There are two or more rails (10, 12) which are fixed to the wall, two moulded wood panels (22, 24), sections for joining the rail and moulded panels and other panels (42) which fit between the moulded panels. The moulded panels are grooved to take the upper and lower edges of the panels (42). The joining section between the rails and the mouldings consist of a tongue (30, 32) which fits into two grooves (16, 26; 18, 28) in the rail and the moulding. There is a dado cap (46) fixed to the upper rail. This is in two parts (48, 50)assembled at right angles and which can be moved in relation to each other to cover any play between the rail and the wall. There is a plinth rail (14) below the lower rail and a skirting board which is attached to the front of the lower rail and the plinth rail. Mouldings can also be used at the sides to form a frame. The panels can be made of fine particle board, veneered in the areas which will be visible.
