The applicator consists of a mobile overhead beam (11) with one or more nozzles (12) which can move relative to the article (13) being coated by means of at least one lateral support (22) with a moving carriage (20) and mobile panels (24,25) which cover an aperture in the support as the carriage moves up or down. Other panels can move horizontally across the support to cover apertures running in that direction between the ends of the vertical panels. Both sets of panels are made from layers of a supple material, passing round rollers; they can be connected by cables or other flexible elements to counterweights, and equipped with cleaning elements. The flexible panels can have reinforcing strips, at least one of them can be made from a transparent material, and they can be assembled to form part of a partition of a coating chamber. |
