A mast design where the mainsail's mast rope is inserted into a hollow profile (2), which is aerodynamically designed and hinged by rings (13) around a round mast (1), and can rotate around this 90 degrees on each side, and by means of its shape and function provides an ideal flow curve for the air over mast-profile-sail. The inside of the profile can be designed for roller reefing where the sail is rolled up on a stay (3) provided inside the profile.
