An air-conditioning apparatus is disclosed with a fresh air channel (I), an outgoing air channel (II), a fresh air outlet (Zua, b) and an escaping air outlet (Foa, b). The air-conditioning apparatus has in a known manner a fresh air channel (I) with a fresh air ventilator (1) and a separated outgoing air channel (II) with an escaping air ventilator (2). When the fresh air ventilator (1) or the escaping air ventilator (2) break down, a redundant ventilator (3) located in a separate redundant channel (III) may be switched on in parallel to the faulty ventilator. In known air-conditioning apparatus, two redundant ventilators are provided in separate redundant channels. One redundant ventilator backs up the fresh air ventilator (1) and the other backs up the escaping air ventilator (2). The resulting complex structure is substantially simplified in that a single redundant ventilator (3) is arranged in a single redundant channel (III) to back up as required either the fresh air ventilator (1) or the escaping air ventilator (2). The redundant channel (III) may selectively communicate with the fresh air channel (I) or the outgoing air channel (II) through first redundant control valves (19, 21) or may selectively communicate with the fresh air outlet (Zub) or with the escaping air outlet (FOb) through second redundant control valves (18, 20). |
