摘要 |

Conversion of heavy hydrocarbon fractions to light olefins, esp. ethylene, is effected by a combination of steam cracking and a catalytic water gas reaction in which coke formed during cracking reacts with steam to form CO, CO2 and H2, the H2 being available for the cracking reaction. The process comprises mixing the hydrocarbon feed with stream in the convective heating zone (4) of a cracking furnace (3) and passing the mixt. through parallel catalyst-filled reaction tubes (15) in the radiative heating zone (16) of the furnace, the tubes having no bends. Also claimed is a cracking furnace as above.
|
