The device for freeing cars, which are stuck in the mud, is formed as a wide strip of thick cloth or flexible material (1), which is placed to present a series of folds, or a roughened surface to which the tyres can adhere. At the rear end of this strip of material, are fixed two narrower bands of similar material (2). These narrow bands are fitted with a series of loops (3), which are designed to receive a number of cross pieces (4), which are produced in wood or other similar hard material. The number of cross pieces is determined by the spacing of the wheels of the vehicle.
