PURPOSE:To expand the frequency stabilizing effect by a stabilizing cavity over the entire tuning frequency band of the original oscillator by making the modulator in the original oscillator to synchronize to modulate a resonance frequency simultaneously with the control of the resonance frequency by the modulator in a stabilizi ing cavity. CONSTITUTION:An output of microwaves is obtaind by supplying power from power supply 7 to oscillator 3 in oscillator cavity 6. Then, the oscillation frequency of this output can be varied by varying a voltage applied to varator 8. On the other hand, although the cavity resonance frequency of stabilizing cavity 5 can be varied by changing a voltage applied to varator 10, the voltage to varactor 10 is applid via voltage converter 11 with a fixed voltage switching ratio in order to vary the cavity resonance frequency keeping pace with the operation frequency of the original oscillator at this time. Consequently, the frequency stabilizing effect by cavity 5 is obtained at each oscillation frequency of the electrically-tunable oscillator, thereby obtaining a stable oscillation output over the broad electric turning band. |
