PURPOSE:To obtain a diazo color developing thermal recording medium having small skin fog by incorporating a specific diazo compound in a thermal recording layer. CONSTITUTION:A thermal recording medium comprises a thermal recording layer containing a diazo compound and a coupler compound and provided on a support, wherein the layer contains a diazo compound represented by the formula I. In the formula I, one of R1-R4 is the formula II or III, and the others are hydrogen atom. Color developing ingredient in the diazo thermal recording layer is generally water as dispersion medium, and prepared by agitating unit and/or a crusher such as a ball mill, an attritor, a sand mill, etc. Particularly, the diazo compound is enclosed in a micro-capsule, thereby further reducing skin fog. |
