PURPOSE:To obtain a herbicidal composition exhibiting excellent effect on paddy field weeds by combinedly using 1-(diethylcarbamoyl)-3-(2,4,6- trimethylphenylsulfonyl)-1,2,4-triazole and benfuresate. CONSTITUTION:This herbicidal composition is obtained by combinedly using 1-(diethylcarbamoyl)-3-(2,4,6-trimethylphenylsulfonyl)-1,2,4-triazole of formula I and 2,3-dihydro-3,3-dimethyl-5benzofuranylethane-sulfonate of formula II (namely benfuresate). The composition exhibits remarkably excellent herbicidal effect on annual weeds and perennial weeds by applying to paddy field weeds before germination or in early stage of growth after germination. The composition does not give substantial phytotoxicity to paddy rice. The composition exhibits sufficient effects at their lower doses than respectively singly used doses and exhibits synergistic effects in which sufficient increase of weeding effect is given by single time spraying of the treating agent and the effect continues for a long period. |
