<p>1,164,525. Mixed metallized azo dyestuffs. J. R. GEIGY A.G. 5 May, 1967 [6 May, 1966], No. 21010/67. Heading C4P. The invention comprises heavy metal containing azo dyes wherein a dicyclically coordinated metallized monoazo dye and a dicyclically co-ordinated metallized disazo dye are both bound in complex linkage to a hexavalent heavy metal atom, and wherein the disazo dye contains a radical of the naphthalene series as middle component and a 5- or 6- membered hetero ring system of the structure as end component taking part in the complex formation. They may be obtained by adding to a dicyclically co-ordinated metallized azo dye containing one co-ordinated metal atom per molecule, a dicyclically co-ordinateable metallizable azo dye, these dyes being chosen so that the product contains a monoazo dye and a disazo dye complexed with the metal atom. Alternatively, the dyes may be obtained by metallizing a mixture of the appropriate monoazo and diazo dyes. The dyes may contain fibre reactive groups. Such dyes may be obtained by acylating complex dyes containing acylatable amino groups with acids or reactive functional derivatives thereof which contain one fibre-reactive group. Examples are given for the production of the dyes. They are useful for dyeing or printing a-variety of organic materials. Intermediate mono- and disazo dyes and their metal complexes are obtained by diazotization and coupling the appropriate components and, if required, metallizing the products. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 851,861.</p> |
