Apparatus for controlling the feeding arrangement of a fabric tentering machine comprises a pivotable feeler arm 6 of a twoarmed lever 6, 7 cooperating with resistance means to influence current in an electrical control circuit in dependence upon the position of the arm 6 and an adjusting motor M controllable in response to the movements of the arm 6 so as to adjust the chain guide rails 4 of the machine in a direction corresponding to the path of one edge of a fabric B at a speed proportional to the speed of the fabric B, the second arm 7 of the lever 6, 7 including a sliding contact 22 arranged to move in an arcuate track in contact with the resistance means which comprises a plurality of contacts 15<SP>1</SP> arranged for radial movement about the pivot point of the feeler lever to adjust the length of the arcuate track over which the contact 22 moves on the resistance means during movement of the feeler lever. The fabric B is guided by a roller in a frame 2 to pin chains 3 mounted in the guide rails 4. Different output voltages occurring are supplied via an amplifier to the control circuit containing an electro-magnetic regulator comprising an axially movable coil which controls the amount of oil fed from a pump to the hydraulic motor M to adjust the rail 4. The contacts 15<SP>1</SP> comprise six metal plates mounted three on each side of a no-load plate 16 on a strip 17 adjustable along a guide 18 effected through an eccentric 20 and a pull rod 21 by operation of a knob 19.</p> |
