FERMENTATION PROMOTING METHOD OF ORGANIC SLUDGE AND FERMENTATION PROMOTING APPARATUS

PURPOSE:To carry out spontaneous fermentation in a relatively short period by mixing an organic waste with a ligneous high-temperature incineration ash, keeping the self-heated temperature of the mixture within a specific range to effect the control of water content and the removal of odor, packing the mixture in an air-permeable bag and depositing the bags. CONSTITUTION:An organic waste 1 such as a public sewage sludge treated in a sludge disposal plant A is mixed with a ligneous high-temperature incineration ash 2 such as pulp cake discharged from a paper mill B at a volume ratio of about 50:50 while the temperature of the high-temperature incineration ash 2 is at least about 100 deg.C to effect the control of water content and considerable deodorization. The self-heating temperature of the obtained mixture 3 is maintained to 40-80 deg.C. The mixture 3 is immediately packed in an air-permeable deposition and transportation bag 4 having a capacity of 1m<3> and deposited optionally in a state covered with a tent 6. The mixture is spontaneously fermented after the deposition of 10-15 days to obtain a fully fermented compost.
