PURPOSE:To obtain a dye image having high optical density and improved light resistance even when a print sheet having an ink accepting layer containing no interlayer compound is thermally transferred by using a thermal transfer containing hydrophobic cation dye and to further improve light resistance of the image. CONSTITUTION:A transfer medium comprises a support 1, and an ink accepting layer 2 containing hydroxyl group-containing polymer or vinyl chloride polymer. A hydrophobic cation dye image is formed by thermal transfer recording the transfer medium by using thermal transfer containing hydrophobic cation dye a thermal transferable dye. In order to improve light resistance of the image, the transfer medium is heat-treated after the image is formed. |
