<p>PURPOSE:To provide an unit in which a plurality of catalysts of a honeycomb structure are put together and the brittleness of the honeycomb is improved while the catalyst of each honeycomb structure unit is surely held. CONSTITUTION:In a nitrogen oxide removing catalyst of a honeycomb structure having a lot of through-holes 2 passing through in one direction, a plurality of single honeycomb structural bodies 1 in which their outer peripheral wall 3 has projecting and recessing parts 4 in the perpendicular direction to the through holes 2 to form are arranged so that the through-holes 2 may be located parallel to each other and that the projecting parts of the adjacent projection and recessing parts of the adjacent outer peripheral walls 3 may not coincide. Elastic bodies 5 are inserted between the outer peripheral walls of single honeycomb structural bodies 1, and the single honeycomb bodies 1 are pressed against each other so that the elastic bodies 5 may be deformed into corrugation, and put into a locking frame to form an unit catalyst. In this way, the single honeycomb structural bodies each are surely held so as not to be dislocated each other, and the damage in transportation is reduced.</p> |
