PURPOSE:To provide a fluid which is of a nonaqueous type, contains a polyhydric alcohol as a polarization accelerator, is excellent in dispersion stability and storage stability, does not cause aggregation even at elevated temps., and has a high electroviscous effect. CONSTITUTION:This fluid comprises an electrical-insulating fluid containing a polyhydric alcohol and fine silica particles esterified at the surfaces with a monohydric alcohol having an 8C or higher alkyl group as the main chain. |
