PURPOSE:To obtain a light-weight and flexible ground fabric for an air bag having excellent tear strength by treating a synthetic fiber woven fabric with a copolymer of an organopolysiloxane containing a specific group and a polymerizable unsaturated group-c containing monomer. CONSTITUTION:This air bag having excellent storing properties and improved tear strength of sewed parts is obtained by treating a woven fabric of a synthetic fiber with an emulsion of a polymer prepared by copolymerizing (A) 10-90wt.% of an organopolysiloxane of the formula [R<1> is a 1-20C monofunctional hydrocarbon; X is a polymerizable unsaturated group-containing organic group or a mercapto group-containing organic group; Y is R<1>, X or a group of the formula OR<2> (R<2> is H or a 1-20C monofunctional hydrocarbon); (m) is 10-100,000; (n) is 0-1,000 with the proviso that when (n) is 0, at least one of Y is X] with (B) 90-10wt.% of a polymerizable unsaturated group-containing monomer [e.g. methyl (meth)acrylate or ethyl (meth)acrylate].
