PURPOSE:To prevent a brake pedal from becoming hard to be stepped on due to the foot tip of an occupant being caught at th lower end portion of a lower bracket. CONSTITUTION:The upper side of the upward-facing center portion of a steering column 1 is supported by means of a support member 2, and a lower bracket 3 is arranged on the lower side of the supports member 2, and the support member 2 and the lower bracket 3 are shaft-supported by means of shafts S1, S2. Also, a guide slab 4 is fixed at a place which is on the lower side of the steering column 1 and on the occupant side toward the support member 2. A slide portion 42 is made by bending in a circular arc shape the end portion of the guide slab 4 toward the lower bracket 3. In a case in which the foot tip of an occupant stepping on a brake pedal 5 has protruded from the brake pedal 5 at a height hitting the lower bracket 3, the foot tip thus protruded butts against the slide portion 42 of the guide slab 4 and slides downward. |
