PURPOSE:To display the echo signal from a testee without displaying the echo signal reflected from an interposed body as an image, when the interposed body is interposed to perform an image diagnosis, and dispense with the set change performed every diagnosis according to the presence and absence of the interposed body. CONSTITUTION:The echo signal from an ultrasonic probe 10 for transmitting an ultrasonic beam and receiving the reflected echo signal from a living body 20 is inputted to a scroll function part 80 through an A/D converting part 70. The period of the signal lower than a prescribed level in the echo signal is identified there, and the detected signal period T is also calculated. A scroll distance X necessary for display in screen display is calculated, and on the basis of the value of this distance X, the digital information is delayed in such a manner that the echo signal from the surface of the subject is displayed on the monitor top part. On the basis of the output of the scroll function part 80, the information is scanning-converted into standard television method by a distal scanning converting part 90 to display an ultrasonic tomographic image on a display part 100. |
