The frame for a playpen includes a lower frame, an upper frame, four vertical rods (32) linking the lower frame and the upper frame separably together. The upper frame has four horizontal rods (31) - two lengthwise and two lateral rods - coupled separably by use of four corner blocks (33), which are also coupled to the four vertical rods detachably. Each corner block is coupled separably to two horizontal upper frame rods by means of two contact blocks (4) fixed at two ends of a U-shaped spring (43) (or a coil spring) deposited in a hollow end portion of each of the two upper horizontal rods. The contact blocks protrude out of holes in the rods and the corner block to couple them or are pressed together thus clearing the holes to disassemble them. Each corner bock is coupled to a vertical rod by a similar mechanism (4). A cloth cover is detachably secured to the frame by a hook and loop arrangement.
