DIGITAL NON-LINEAR PRE-EMPHASIS/DE-EMPHASIS

The pre-emphasis/de-emphasis circuit is constructed of digital circuits to improve the S/N characteristics and the stability of a VCR. The pre-emphasis/de- emphasis circuit comprises a pre-emphasis circuit including a first filter (100) for adjusting the gain of input digital signal non-linearly, a second filter (200) for amplifying output signal of the first filter non-linearly, and an adder (310) for adding input digital signal and output signal of the second filter (200), and a de-emphasis circuit including a subtracter (140) for subtracting output signal of the second filter (200) from digital signal reproduced.
