Adjustable height leg rest with variable inclination

The leg rest has a lower base (1) joined to an upper plate (2) by a pivoting arm (3). Its upper and lower axes (4) each have a semi-cylindrical part (13) at the end of the arm and centred on the axle. This has a toothed section (13a) on its outer surface. A ratchet (18) pivots on an axle (19), parallel to the axle of the arm, and has teeth (18a) which engages on the teeth of the semi-cylindrical part. It is moved towards this part by a spring. It slides freely during rotation of the arm but prevents movement in the other direction.
