Conveyor for disentangling strands of fodder

The conveyor has an endless drive chain (5) provided with fingers (6) for driving strands of fodder. A steel casing contains rotating drive shafts (1,2) for the chain drive which is located around the casing. The conveyor casing has an upper streamlining plate (10) which is fixed to a wall and tangent to two tubes (8,9) coaxial with the drive shafts and fixed to rotate with the shafts. A lower streamlining plate (12) is parallel to the upper plate and tangent to one of the tubes (8). A runner (17) for tensioning the chain is adjustable relative to the lower plate by means of screws (19) engaged in slots (20). Between the end of the lower plate and one of the tubes (9) is an emptying gap (13) for residue able to penetrate into the space between the upper and lower plates and the tubes.
