Method for fabricating LCD with active transistor array

An LCD includes a substrate of conducting slabs arranged in lines and columns and each being associated with a thin film transistor. Conducting paths connect the transistors to terminals. The method for fabricating the LCD consists in the following successive steps: deposition of a conducting layer over the substrate. The layer is then etched to generate the slabs and conducting paths. A structure of semiconductor, insulator and conductor layers is then deposited over the substrate. Thin film transistors are then defined using etching of the structure. Metallic paths are formed between the gates of the transistors.
