The first guides (9,10) arranged at one side of the machine bed (1) are aligned parallel to each other and carry guide tracks. The guide tracks are displaced against each vertically and horizontally. The first carriage (19) is supported on these at discrete bearing points (I to V). The mass point of gravity of the system, including both carriages (19,40), the column (20) and the cross arm (42), lies essentially on a vertical plane running between or behind the displaced guide tracks (14,15;16,17).
