This improved superconductive composite comprises a superconductive ceramic core and a surrounding metal sheath. The metal sheath consists of a silver and a non-silver portion. The silver portion spreads from the inner surface towards the outer surface. The superconductive ceramic core and the non-silver portion of the surrounding metal sheath are indirectly brought into contact with each other. The superconductive composite wire comprises a superconductive ceramic core and a surrounding metal sheath which comprises an inner layer made of silver and an outer layer made of silver and non-silver portions. The silver of the inner layer and the silver of the outer layer are in contact. The superconductive composite wire is produced by filling the composite tube made of a metal sheath with the superconductive ceramic, sealing off both terminals in a vaccum, stretching the tube into a wire and heat-treating it.
