Optical scanner for recording information esp. on optical disc

An optical scanner for the recording of information onto discs has a holographic optical laser diode-photodetector unit (5) that directs an emission through a collimator lens (6) onto the surface (13) of a hologram mirror. The emission is reflected onto a mirror (12) and is reflected onto the surface of the disc (10) via a focussing lens. Information is reflected back to the photo detector stage (3). The holographic element is in the form of a marked grating.
