For the prodn. of pneumatic vehicle tyres, where microwave energy is used for at least part of the required heat, the microwaves are applied in a conventional tyre heating press. The metal heating mould acts as a microwave reflector or vessel. The mould is at least partially of ceramics, which can be combined with other materials in a layer structure.
