The heating element is provided on the visible outer surface with a natural stone plate (6), enclosed on at least 3 of its small sides and at its rear by a plastics body (1), with a flat heat-insulation element (4) between the latter and the stone plate. The switching electronic module (3) for operating the heating element is embedded in the heat-insulation element, which has an outer contour matching the cross-section of the open side of the plastics body. Pref. a resilient insulation layer (7) is fitted between the peripheral edge of the stone plate and the plastics body.
