In a stretcher 1 provided with rollers for transporting patients in hospitals, which comprises an undercarriage 1 that can be moved on rollers 6, 7, 8, 9, two brakeable axles arranged on the undercarriage 1 and a frame 30 which is mounted on the undercarriage 1 and held at a distance from the undercarriage 1 by at least one height-adjustable support for reception of padding, it is provided that the undercarriage 1 be mounted on load-dependent steering and standing rollers 6, 7, 8, 9 and that a linear piston actuator 22 with a cylinder 23 and at least one piston 26, 27 be arranged on the undercarriage 1. The cylinder 23 of the linear piston actuator 22 is fastened on the undercarriage 1, whereas a basic frame 1 with facilities for reception of different frames is fitted on the piston 27 of the linear piston actuator 22 (Figure 1).
