Diamond plates (10-1, 10-6) are used at an angle in the vicinity of the Brewster angle. Their optical thickness is close to an odd multiple of a quarter of the wavelength at the centre of the optical band to be processed. Their physical thickness is in the range of about 0.4 to 2.1 microns, preferably of about 0.5 to 2 microns, for a wavelength of the order of 10 pm, and the plates include an aperture of a few centimetres in size. Each plate is deposited on a silicon substrate in which the portion in registration with the plate is subsequently removed by chemical etching. |
