Actuating device for moving the arm of a gate, such as gates for motorway tolls, between two end positions, comprising a fork (2) for receiving said arm (1); a frame (3) with a drive shaft (5) providing at least a partial connection between the arm (1) and compressed air motor means (8), and control means (11, 12, 13) for said motor means (8), the invention being characterized in that the motor means (8) are mounted for oscillation on a lifting beam (6) integral with the drive shaft (5).
